IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that PGNiG TERMIKA, Poland's largest producer of combined heat and power, has decided to upgrade to IFS Applications™ 8, to optimize its key business processes.
PGNiG TERMIKA, one of Poland’s leading utilities generating 11% of all district heating produced in the country, has been an IFS customer for nearly 15 years. Following an extensive evaluation process, the company decided to upgrade to IFS Applications 8.
The solution will be used by 460 users and will support key business processes such as financials, project management, fuel management, maintenance, invoice workflow and document management. By upgrading to the latest version, PGNiG Termika will benefit from a number of innovative features, for example the budgeting and forecasting capabilities of the project management module. The company will also enable the company to develop in subcontract management and risk management.
"We believe that the new IFS Applications 8 functionality will support key business processes and facilitate the development of our company," said Andrzej Gajewski, President of PGNiG TERMIKA.
"We’ve worked on a continuous basis with IFS in order to further improve management processes, and handling of manufacturing assets. The implementation of IFS Applications 8 will optimize our ERP system to new business challenges and requirements on our organization. In particular we're excited about new features in the area of asset management, which will strengthen the effective management of maintenance policy for generation equipment. Another key advantage of implementing IFS Applications 8 is that we will benefit from the latest technology in system architecture. Having this will, for example, allow each user to set up their own view when working with the application," – said Dariusz Gawryś, director of IT and Administration Department.
"Energy and utilities is one of IFS key target markets. For over 30 years, IFS has been developing and supplying best-practice industry-based solutions for enterprise asset management, investment projects management, as well as asset lifecycle management," – said Marcin Taranek, President of IFS CEE. "World-class functionality, flexible system architecture and a team of experienced professionals make IFS the number one choice of the top enterprises in the energy and utilities sector. We are happy that PGNiG TERMIKA is among them".
The implementation project is scheduled to finish at the end of 2014.
