2011 IFS TECH LUNCH: THE CLOUD AT CENTER STAGE

On September 5, On September 5, IFS Tech Lunch was held at landmark restaurant Operakällaren in Stockholm. The topic of the event was the cloud and how it affects sensitive policy issues, both from a legislative and business perspective.

Joining the debate was Graham Taylor of the OpenForum Europe, a champion of open standards, whose organization is supported by companies such as Google, IBM and Red Hat, to name a few. The industry perspective was provided by Mikael Bäck, responsible for Strategy and Portfolio management for Ericsson’s fixed and mobile network business, who played a key role in establishing Ericsson’s business strategy for the cloud.

The discussion, moderated by IFS CTO Dan Matthews, touched upon a wide spectrum of issues such as user confidence, cloud security and the role of the European Commission. The debate gathered a broad selection of representatives from media, politics and businesses.

IFS Tech Lunch is a new concept sponsored by IFS. The ambition of these regular events is to gather opinion leaders to discuss technology policy trends that affect business and society as a whole.
