IFS Applications upgrade in Paradyz Group

Paradyż Group has completed implementation of the latest version of IFS Applications to streamline its international operations. The Group has also implemented IFS Warehouse Management System (WMS).

The Paradyż Group specializes in manufacturing ceramic tiles. Currently, Paradyż Group has five modern plants with a total output capacity of about 30 million m2. The dynamic growth of companies belonging to the group meant that the company needed to modernize its ERP software. In mid-2009, the board decided to implement the latest version of IFS Applications, which is now live.

“Our primary objective was to introduce separate accounting for each plant in Paradyż Group by generating separate P&L and balance statements for them. As a result, all our companies have become cost and profit centers,” said Grzegorz Mikucki, IT Director, Paradyż Group.

The main benefits of upgrading to the latest version of IFS Applications include the ability to control cash flows group-wide, quick access to operational and management data, shorter decision-making cycles, the ability to conduct multi-directional analysis, streamlined distribution process, and a reduction in warehousing costs.

The upgrade of IFS Applications included components for manufacturing, distribution, financials and human resource management. In addition, two new components were implemented: IFS/Retail Sales, to streamline the sales processes and improve data entry validation, and IFS Dealers’ Bonuses. This component makes it easier to keep records and manage terms of agreements with dealers concerning bonuses, estimation of dealers’ bonuses based on sales forecasts, and accruing bonuses on issued invoices.

IFS Applications solution was also extended with a WMS solution to help manage the finished goods warehouse.

“In today’s economic environment, improving operational effectiveness and reducing costs are prerequisites for a company to be successful. This is why we desired better coordination of work and wanted to streamline all processes occurring in our warehouses. We started looking for a solution capable of optimizing our material management, but which was also able to cooperate seamlessly with IFS Applications, our business software,” said Piotr Tokarski, CEO, Paradyż Group.

Implementation of the WMS functionality resulted in a number of benefits, such as greater efficiency, optimized internal transport processes and loading, stock-level optimization, effective quantitative and qualitative assurance, and thorough reporting options.

“Implementation of the WMS functionality allowed us to completely automate product movements in our warehouses. As a result, we can now locate products without error and supervise movements of products between warehouses. The solution provides information on stock levels according to many different criteria and helps us locate each batch of products effectively. The WMS can also be used to control the quality and assortment of products delivered to the warehouse,” said Grzegorz Mikucki.

Paradyż Group uses the following components in IFS Applications: IFS Financials, IFS Distribution, IFS Manufacturing, IFS Maintenance, IFS Human Resources, IFS Payroll, IFS Document Management, IFS Projects, IFS Quality Management and IFS WMS.
