IFS Applications as a Service can be an effective way to use the IFS Cloud to deliver IFS Applications and technical support (Managed Services) with higher reliability and lower TCO. IFS Applications as a Service combines Cloud based hosting with 7x24 Managed Services to offer a cost effective service that is scalable and reliable, while offloading your own IT staff.
What is the impact of cloud computing for large scale ERP implementations?
Listen to CTO Dan Matthews describe two aspects of cloud relevant to our product and our customers.
Chances are, your company’s core business does not involve owning and maintaining servers and software. You likely engineer, manufacture, build, operate or maintain any number of different types of assets that are central to your business. And the servers and business critical software solutions running on those servers are not among them.
Our cloud based deployment solution goes beyond simple virtualized hosting. It allows you to offload the technical support, maintenance, monitoring and fault correction of IFS Applications and associated technical infrastructure including servers, operating systems, databases, and move them to the professionally managed IFS Private Cloud. This new cloud offering is just one element in IFS’s strategy for cloud computing, enabling IFS customers to extend their options with cloud based applications.
IFS Applications as a Service is built on single-tenant “private cloud” concepts, where each customer has their own database and application instance, yet at the same time leverages a highly scalable cloud computing infrastructure. This allows customer to leverage cloud computing and managed services to extend or offload their lean IT staff, yet retain the security, privacy and control of a non-shared application environment. With IFS Applications as a Service, customers control the application configuration, maintenance windows, and upgrade timing. Secure Integration with local security solutions (such as Active Directory) and other applications, either in the cloud or on premises, are fully supported.
Please note that this service is currently only available in North America.
