Social Events

Besides from all interesting training- and break out sessions during the conference, there is also room for more social gatherings. You are all invited to the Welcome Reception on Sunday and the IFS Dinner at Monday. But there is more… read about the different events you can participate in during the conference.

Industry Get Together

On Sunday evening, at 5:30 pm, you are invited to meet and network with IFS users, partners, industry directors and staff in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Over a drink and snacks you can take the opportunity to make new connections with people in your industry. We are also organizing a separate get together for CFOs, controllers and others with interests in financials and business performance.

Welcome reception

IFS and ErgoGroup are pleased to invite you all to the IFS World Conference welcome reception, Sunday, September 18 at 7:00PM. The Partner Exhibit Hall will also be officially opened on that occasion. This will give you a first opportunity to meet all the sponsors of the event and some of the companies whose partnership enables us to deliver one of the best business solutions in the world. 

Drinks will be served together with a delicious buffet, and this happening will also allow you to meet many IFS:ers, in a musical ambience… and with a lot of fun!

Conference Dinner

Monday night (September 19) is a night for fun! IFS together with IBM, NEC and all the Gold Sponsors invites you to dinner and dancing all night long. The IFS Conference dinner starts at 7:00PM with a cocktail, and by 7:30PM the doors to the banquet hall opens. For the Conference Dinner Party, this year’s party is not a gala dinner, so dress as formally or informally as you please - anything goes from jeans to business casual to pin striped suit!

If you want to take someone along with you, who is not a participant of the conference, you just register that on our online registration site.

Sunday Social Events

Not attending the training sessions on Sunday? IFS and XDIN invites you to take part in some of the other activities we've planned for you. They're all free of charge, so all you need to do is register so that we know how many to expect. There are 4 different events to choose from:

• Mushroom Picking
• Boat Trip
• Golf Tournament
• Shopping Trip  

Mushroom Picking

Join us in one of Sweden’s most popular summer and fall pastimes. We will take a bus to a nearby forest—there’s always one close by in Sweden—and spend a few hours enjoying its beauty while picking mushrooms, especially the extremely delicious chanterelles. After a picnic lunch, we will return fully laden to our hotel where our chef will prepare the mushrooms and use them to put the gilt edge on our evening meal. 
This is an exceptional chance to experience one of the lesser-known—and most uniquely charming—sides of Swedish life and culture. 

The bus departs from the Gothia Towers Hotel (meeting point in the lobby) at 11 a.m. and returns to the hotel at 2.30 p.m.
Please note that the conditions during our trip can be a bit wet so prepare with suitable clothes. However if the weather is too bad, the trip will be cancelled.

Boat Trip

Ever since the 17th century, Elfsborg’s Fortress has been keeping watch over the sea approach to Gothenburg's harbor. From here, soldiers of the king kept their eyes on the sea, alert to any threatening ships that they might have to repel. Today, happily, things are different.  Get a taste of one of the most exciting periods in Swedish history and enjoy a memorable experience of what was once Sweden's mightiest citadel for coastal defense. After a boat trip and guided tour, we will have lunch on the grounds and simply soak up the atmosphere of this formidable bastion.

At 10.30 a.m., the bus departs from Gothia Towers Hotel (meeting point in the lobby) for Lilla Bommen.
The bus returns to the hotel at 3.30p.m.

Golf Tournament

An absolute must for any IFS User Conference. Pit your golfing skills against a truly international field and see who takes home the Green Jacket this year. Lunch will help you recoup the energy you spent dazzling your fellow competitors.
 

Shopping Trip

First a sightseeing tour to experience the beauty of Gothenburg, or Little London, as Swedes call their favorite summer city. Then we will take you to the Nordstan shopping mall where you can ‘shop till you drop’ or simply enjoy the more prudent pleasure of window-shopping. We will eat lunch separately to allow you as much freedom as possible.

The bus departs from the Gothia Towers Hotel (meeting point in the lobby) at 11.30 a.m.
Those who wish to take the bus back to the hotel will be picked up at 3.30 p.m. (You can stroll back to the hotel at your leisure if you wish, but please let us know if you intend to do so.)

Cancelation

Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent to Congrex Göteborg.
