 “A few years ago our family and I decided we wanted a change; we wanted to try something new. Working at IFS meant that I could do this and still work for the same company. I transferred to the IFS office in Chicago, U.S.A for 4 1/2 years and my entire family came with me. Moving to the U.S.A. gave me new perspectives on my work and the importance of communication between the different parts of the IFS Group. I think it’s extremely valuable that we have the opportunity to work at other IFS offices to build networks between people and to share knowledge and gain competence on how our tools and processes are being used. Coming from the R&D organization it was a very positive experience to get closer to the customer; it gave me a different insight into product development.

Additionally, moving to a new country has been very educational for the whole family. The US is a mix of different nationalities, cultures and traditions. The experience of living there changed how we view our own lifestyle and is something we will always treasure. Now, we are back in Sweden and I have new insights and knowledge that I can use in my new position and in everyday life."

“After working for IFS in Sri Lanka for two years, I received a 4-year contract with IFS UK to work in Customer Service. The job I am doing is very much like my hobby of solving puzzles. I have direct communication with customers who put pressure on us to solve the problem and get the work done on time. In doing so, I have learned a lot about the back end of IFS Applications and gained a wider knowledge of the application.

I found the IFS environment in the UK to be very similar to that in Sri Lanka. My team members were very helpful and I found it an easy task to start work directly in another country.
