Balancing demand and supply
Since food and beverage companies usually sell against inventory, it’s essential that the goods are available for delivery when the customer requires them. Our solution offers integrated functionality for demand planning that interacts with the master schedule. IFS/Demand Planning supports several forecasting models as well as collaborative forecasting, where a forecast or a set of forecasts can be sent to a customer and/or product manager for review. When using collaborative forecasting, the only tool a receiver needs is a web browser. Other forecasting functionality includes seasonality and aggregated forecast capability. The master schedule functionality allows you to work with different master schedule scenarios before deciding which scenario the production should be planning against. Each scenario can be checked against the resource requirements planning where capacities can be checked against bottlenecks in the production. Long term relationships with customers
Building customer relationships is always important, especially in a very competitive consumer-related market. This includes being able to deliver what the customer wants—and at the right time. IFS Applications also offers web functionality that enables customers to place orders electronically or simply check information pertaining to previous orders. The IFS/Sales & Marketing component supports sales personnel and others in their daily relationships with customers. IFS Applications also offers EDI communications for smooth and cost-effective order administration and invoicing. Flexible support for manufacturing processes
IFS Applications for the food & beverage industry provides extensive support for manufacturing, including traditional shop order functionality as well as functionality for production lines and batch balancing. Production can be lot-/batch-controlled if needed, and recipe management is also supported. Hazard analysis and critical control points
Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) are becoming increasingly important for the food and beverage industry. Our solution supports these processes, offering functionality for preventive quality actions, control plans, SPC and capability. Our Business Modeler is also extremely useful, allowing processes to be graphically described. The document management software is fully integrated, and documents can be connected to functionality in the system. For example, an ingredient specification can be connected to the recipe or a work instruction to a shop order.
