For product costing, users can work with an unlimited number of historical, current and future costs sets, with user defined buckets for materials, labor, machines and overheads. Order-based estimates, standard and actual, are created for each manufacturing order and variances are analyzed.
Demand Planning
IFS Demand Planning is a highly collaborative, graphical and interactive tool for forecasting and collaborative demand planning. It can be used to create both short and long term forecasts and for the creation of demand plans as a basis for sales planning, budgeting, master scheduling and inventory control. With advanced internet-based collaboration capabilities and a comprehensive array of statistical methods, multiple forecasting scenarios and is tightly integrated with the rest of the IFS Planning processes.
Planning against finite capacity
We also offer smart analysis functionality that enables you to plan against finite capacity to ensure that production does not start too late or too early. At IFS we call this Constraint Based Scheduling and it brings you critical manufacturing capabilities by; continuously maintaining a feasible schedule based on real-time shop-floor information; by being flexible in the choice of which resources (tools, labor and material) should be considered as constraints; by bringing attention to only the problematic orders; and by providing tools to resolve load, capacity and schedule conflicts. With this to help you, it’s easy to estimate e.g. the consequences of accepting a change in order quantity or reschedule to meet a customer rush order.

So rather than having to deal with millions of different item numbers, you have just a few that can be varied infinitely. By creating a more flexible method of describing products and linking these to a configurator, sales representatives can directly inform the customer about price and delivery dates. Better control of these enables you to make faster quotes more easily.

You get the capacity to trace all the material used. With IFS Manufacturing, you quickly see what your product consists of at all levels, where each part is directly linked to the pertinent documentation, such as a material certificate.
