Indian contractor VA Tech Wabag goes live on IFS Applications
VA Tech Wabag, India selected IFS Applications to streamline its business processes in October 2007. The company has now successfully gone live on IFS Applications components for distribution, financials, engineering, operational HR, sales & service, and maintenance in addition to a number of cross-functional components.
Competing solutions were SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Business Solutions. SAP was offered by HCL and Wipro. IFS Solutions India Pvt. Limited won the bid because it offered industry-specific enterprise applications from IFS that were easy to implement quickly. The project-centric applications offered by IFS matched the requirements of VA Tech Wabag, which is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.

VA Tech Wabag required a solution that would increase project management efficiency and to better manage time, budget, and costs. Moreover, it needed to be able to consolidate various project details in international projects to enable head office to enhance planning. The ability to maintain project profitability and efficiently allocate resources were two other key requirements.
