Human Resources and Payroll Administrator – Schaumburg, IL (posted 2008-03-10)

Position Purpose:  

The purpose of this position is to support the Human Resources and Payroll functions within IFS in the maintenance of employee data, company policies, benefit administration, and payroll.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain all employee files to ensure that documents are appropriately filed and secure.
  • Input employee data in ADP HRB and IFS Hattrick databases.
  • Process HR employee forms such as Hire, Status Change, Performance Reviews, Terminations, etc.
  • Act as back-up to Payroll function.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit billing.
  • Coordinates with Payroll for pay period deadlines, and ensures paperwork is coded and calculated correctly, has appropriate signatures and is turned in on time.
  • Assists in coordinating with various offices to plan company functions to include: anniversary and birthday celebrations, company holiday party.
  • May prepare reports on a regular or as-needed basis.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by Human Resources Director or Controller.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Specialized Know-How and Requirements:  
  • HS diploma required; BSBA and/or PHR preferred.
  • Requires confidentiality of employees’ personal affairs.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in one or more areas of Human Resources.
  • PC proficiency in Windows environment, including the ability to manipulate data in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. HRIS or database experience required and OrgPlus/Visio experience helpful. 
  • Prior Payroll/Accounting experience (ADP preferred).
  • Detail-oriented and quality-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational skills in order to balance a variety of responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
