The business software from IFS will standardize and support Grenland Group processes within detailed engineering, project management, procurement, document management, financial control, material management, fabrication, human resources, and after sales. There will be interfaces to CAD design tools and to planning tools such as Safran. Grenland Group undertook a strategic review of the major enterprise software vendors before selecting IFS. “The growth of our business was placing increasing pressures on the existing legacy environment. IFS stood out as being the best fit for our business. IFS has a solution that fully supports our project-oriented business, both today and in the future. Also, the IFS representatives have proven themselves to be skillful and competent when it comes to understanding our business, which is crucial to the long-term relationship we now embarking on with IFS,” said Hallgeir Skogen, CEO, Grenland Group. “IFS’ offering to the project-driven industry consists of both detailed engineering and ERP in a modern web-based suite, including a multidiscipline pre-configured NORSOK Engineering Register that is smoothly connected to procurement and fabrication, which is a real advantage in this kind of industry,” said Glenn Arnesen, CEO IFS Scandinavia. Project-driven industries are one of IFS’ targeted market segments with more than several hundred customers, of which many are within the Offshore and Maritime segment. Customers include Dresser Rand, Aker Yards, Advanced Production & Loading (APL), First Engineering, Kelvin Hughes, Rotary Engineering, and Shedden Uhde.
