This course gives you a detailed view of Manufacturing Standards and Inventory features so that you can take advantage of the capabilities of shop order processing, master scheduling, repetitive production schedules, Kanban, costing, and quality management techniques. You will learn how data collection and analysis transfers valuable process control information to the shop floor.

Course Description

This course provides a broad understanding of how to fully use the features within shop orders and production schedules, including data collection and process control techniques. Hands-on exercises, both introductory and advanced, will be completed.

Topics include:

• Setting up the basic datafor inventory, manufacturing, and quality transactions
• Using the features within the product structure, work center, and routings to manage shop orders and production schedules
• Creating multilevel forecasts that create production schedules or shop order requisitions
• Releasing and processing manual and system-generated shop orders and production schedules
• Reserving and issuing material, and then receiving the shop order into finished goods inventory
• Creating the appropriate circuits for a Kanban inventory management process, calculating Kanban quantities, and generating Kanban cards.
• Using operations reports to track shop order progress using a dispatch list
• Receiving and unreceiving shop order material from finished goods inventory
• Dealing with nonconforming material using IFS MRB and ISO 9000 requirements
• Creating a split shop order with an MRB Form automatically attached
• Creating shop orders that use external processing operations
• Validating the shop order activity (i.e., transactions and costs) generated during the production cycle in the Operations History and Transaction History windows
