IFS wins ‘Company of the Year’ in UK IT awards
IFS has reinforced its position as an organization that ‘gets closer to customers’ by being named Company of the Year by Construction Computing magazine at a prestigious awards ceremony in London. The award was especially gratifying to receive as it was voted for by the public.
“Time and again our customers tell us that they selected IFS, not just because our software applications match their business needs, but because of the knowledge and attitude of the IFS team,” IFS CEO Alastair Sorbie remarked. “From our inception it has been in IFS’ DNA to work closely with customers, not only to implement solutions but also to develop future business applications together. It’s fantastic to receive an award like this which recognizes the company as a whole and is based on feedback from the IT user community.”
Joining the IFS team at the award ceremony in London were representatives of IFS customers The Clancy Group, EPS and Babcock Defence Services. Speaking after the announcement Nikki Charles, Group IS Manager of The Clancy Group, said “The professionalism and calibre of IFS Staff is continually being demonstrated, from the initial bid stage to our current position in the first steps of a phased implementation”. The Clancy Group is the most recent customer to adopt IFS Applications for Construction. Others include First Engineering, NG Bailey, Hertel, Alan Dick and Biwater.
The Company of the Year award was voted for by readers of Construction Computing magazine and builds on IFS’ success at last year’s event, where they won the Management Information Product of the Year for IFS Applications.
“IFS is very focused on meeting the specific business requirements of customers in selected industries. Several years ago we noticed an increasing need across a number of industry sectors for integrated business applications which support a ‘project-centric’ way of doing business. Our work in construction is part of our response to that demand,” said Paul Massey, Managing Director, IFS UK. “Receiving this accolade is a wonderful recognition of the IFS approach, which acknowledges not only our software capability but also the ethos of our company and employees.”
The Construction, Contracting and Service Management industry is one of IFS’ targeted vertical market segments. The company offers a complete and integrated business solution that manages the entire lifecycle of contracts, projects, assets and services. With IFS Applications, companies can support and improve business processes by collaborating more closely with suppliers, subcontractors, operators and customers. IFS Applications includes functionality for contract and project management, risk management, budgeting and forecasting, engineering and manufacturing, supply chain management, document management and service and maintenance management all integrated with financials and HR. Existing IFS customers in the Oil and Gas segment are represented as EPCI contractors, Service Providers and Project Based Manufactures and include Cosalt International, Rosenberg Verft, NCA, Doosan Babcock, SeaDrill, Grenland Group and Heerema Group.
