Integrated Water Services selects IFS Applications in £500k deal

Global enterprise applications company, IFS, today announced that specialist water treatment and engineering business, Integrated Water Services (IWS), has signed a £500,000 deal for IFS Applications licences, ongoing support and related services. The water services and solutions company will use IFS’ enterprise resource planning (ERP) application to, among other things, support its mobile workforce, streamline service operations and optimise project management efficiency. This will improve business agility and support continued business growth.

IWS, a division of South Staffordshire plc, supplies a range of water related services, which includes legionella control, M&E operation and maintenance, repair and maintenance of pipeline infrastructure. These services are provided 24 hours a day across the UK by over 400 staff, including more than 300 mobile engineers at multiple national sites. IFS Applications will be brought in to the business to replace various informal systems, and integrate with other critical IWS systems to deliver better support to all IWS staff, and provide a more stable foundation for continued growth.

Pete Aspley, IWS Managing Director, said: “We recognised the necessity of implementing an ERP system capable of supporting IWS’ continued expansion and our growing mobile workforce. Our existing systems have served us well but we can’t afford to standstill in what is becoming an increasingly competitive market place.”

Service Management and Project Management are among the core IFS Applications modules IWS intends to deploy. The service management and project control functionality will enable IWS to closely analyse and improve efficiency whilst ensuring that delivery times, for instance, are well within the limits of customer service level agreements.

Aspley, added: “We estimate that some managers currently spend 80% of their time gathering information and 20% utilising it. We aim to flip this ratio so that managers have the information they require to facilitate continuous improvement within all of our operations. For that to happen, though, we need an agile and user-friendly ERP solution capable of integrating our entire business, including some of our existing systems, and providing up to date visibility of operational performance. IFS was clearly identified as the best solution within our extensive evaluation process.”

The new ERP application is scheduled to go live in nine months’ time, following a staged roll-out across the IWS business.
