Alliance Contracting Selects IFS to Support Growth in Western Australia
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, today announced that it has signed a deal with Western Australian construction, earthmoving and equipment hire services supplier, Alliance Contracting. IFS Applications’ functionality and proven track record within the construction industry will drive continued growth at Alliance Contracting.
Alliance Contracting is a Civil and Mining Contracting Company operating in Western Australia. Alliance Contracting conducts a broad range of new, upgrade and maintenance works including open pit mining, drill and blast, excavation operations, both detailed and bulk earthworks, tails dam construction, civil construction, road construction, minor concrete works and seawall construction.
Having experienced rapid growth, Alliance Contracting needed to upgrade their systems in order to manage the increased workload and growing complexity of the organisation.
The fully integrated ERP system from IFS will have a particular emphasis on project control and reporting , as well as cover all major processes including finance, procurement, HR and recruitment, payroll, maintenance planning and execution, tendering and project management. The IFS system is also scalable to cater for the expected future growth of Alliance Contracting.
Peter Bell, Chief Financial Officer at Alliance Contracting, believed that using a number of aging and disparate systems was no longer sustainable to cater for the expansion plans for the company: “Working across multiple databases meant not only the duplication of data and manual work but also the increased risk of mistakes,” he said. “Our existing systems could not cope with the volume of data and transactions we were making on a daily basis, therefore we required an agile system that would enable us to perform at the optimal level of efficiency and productivity.”
After reviewing a number of alternative ERP solutions, Alliance Contracting selected IFS Applications for its rich functionality and the company’s experience in the construction industry. “IFS had better functionality across all divisions, coupled with extensive knowledge working with other project-based companies like ours,” says Bell. “Above all, IFS has a very intuitive and user-friendly interface, as well as component-based modules that will enable us to continue to expand the system as we grow.”
The implementation of IFS Applications ™ is scheduled to start in August and will support Alliance Contracting by improving its business processes, providing tighter control and visibility over projects.
