EPS Group selects IFS Applications 8 to improve business efficiencies and power its mobile workforce
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that EPS Group, a global provider of water and wastewater products and services, has chosen IFS Applications™ 8 as its new ERP solution to help improve the accuracy of information across the business and support its mobile workforce. The solution will be used daily by approximately 300 employees at EPS’ sites throughout the UK and Ireland to streamline processes and enable better management decision making.
Based in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland, EPS Group is a proven provider of water and wastewater treatment and pumping solutions, ranging from the complex municipal and industrial projects to single domestic units. The company operates in Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe and currently exports to over 20 different countries worldwide.
EPS Group will implement IFS Applications 8 as its core IT application, thereby replacing up to 20 disparate home-built applications to provide staff with the benefits of one single, integrated solution. The system will support all business-critical processes, from manufacturing, asset management, project and supply chain management to human resources (HR), customer relationship management (CRM) and financials. Implementation is planned to go live in April 2014.
IFS’s mobile applications will also enable field engineers to record and submit data while on-site, helping provide more up-to-date information and reduce data processing costs. With the IFS mobile apps, engineers will be able to immediately record work carried out and place requisitions and orders for materials directly into the mobile apps, rather than fill in paperwork that will then need to be re-entered.
Brian Barry, IT Manager at EPS Group said, “We have reached the limits of efficiency with our current network set up, which consists of a legacy accounting system interfaced to a range of in-house developed applications. The problem is that these systems do not communicate together effectively and we have a single point of failure with the data mining tool required to access necessary information. During the procurement process we looked extensively at a range of alternative ERP solutions but IFS Applications 8 is the only solution that can handle our full range of requirements and will enable us to increase productivity and efficiency, along with giving us a greater ability to adapt to changing market needs.
“IFS will also enable us to implement a mobility strategy to support our field engineers and ensure the business is constantly updated with the most accurate information,” added Brian.
Paul Massey, managing director of IFS Europe West, said, “The partnership with EPS Group further demonstrates our strength in the energy and utilities sector, as well as our commitment to developing mobile applications that are fully integrated with the core IT system. We are looking forward to helping EPS Group improve efficiencies across its entire network as well as helping the business meet its ambitious growth plans.”
