IFS Applications™ Achieves Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle Exalogic Optimized Status
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that it has earned Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle Exalogic Optimized status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), demonstrating that IFS Applications Release 8 has been tested and tuned on Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud to deliver speed, scalability and reliability to customers. By combining IFS Applications with the Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, IFS customers will be able to leverage benefits such as faster time to implementation, increased performance, as well as reduced energy and hardware footprint. IFS is a Platinum level member in Oracle PartnerNetwork.
Initial test results showed that IFS Applications Release 8 material resource planning (MRP) batch jobs achieved a 2.5x performance improvement and a 2.2x increase in user transactions on Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud. Additionally, IFS Applications 8 achieved a 37x higher compression ratio, resulting in significantly shorter time for daily backup routines and lowering storage costs. *
Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle Exalogic Optimized are part of the Oracle Exastack Optimized program, which allows partners, such as IFS, to leverage OPN enablement resources and dedicated lab environments to help develop, test and tune their applications on Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and Oracle SPARC SuperCluster engineered systems. The Oracle Exadata Database Machine is the only database machine that provides extreme performance for both data warehousing and online transaction processing (OLTP) workloads, making it the ideal platform for database consolidation and database clouds. It is a complete package of servers, storage, networking, and software that is massively scalable, secure, and redundant. Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud is hardware and software engineered together to provide extreme performance, reliability and scalability for Oracle, Java and other business applications, while delivering lower TCO, reduced risk, higher user productivity and one-stop support.
By achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle Exalogic Optimized status, Oracle recognizes IFS for developing, testing and tuning IFS Applications on Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud. This accomplishment is a testament to IFS’s ability to deliver the extreme performance and reliability customers require.
“The Oracle Exastack Optimized status is another example of IFS’s commitment to leading technologies and standards,” IFS Chief Marketing Officer Mark Boulton said. “IFS Applications and Oracle Exastack are based on a similar customer-centric philosophy that revolves around out-of-the-box use, ease of integration and an intuitive user experience. IFS has been leveraging Oracle database technology for almost 30 years, and we are looking forward to continuing our mutually beneficial partnership.”
“Oracle Exastack Optimized recognizes partners who have optimized their solutions on a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure in order to help them accelerate innovation, unlock new features and functionality, and deliver superior value to users,” said Chris Baker, Senior Vice President, Worldwide ISV and OEM Sales, Oracle. “By achieving Oracle Exadata Optimized and Oracle Exalogic Optimized status, IFS has demonstrated its IFS Applications Release 8 is tested and tuned to work with Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud to help deliver optimum performance, scalability, and reliability to their customers.”
With Oracle Engineered Systems, users can reduce IT costs through consolidation, store up to ten times more data, improve performance of all applications, deliver a faster time-to-market by eliminating systems integration trial and error, and make better business decisions in real time.
* IFS Applications Release 8 tested on Oracle Database 11g running on comparable X86 systems with 192GB memory.
About the Oracle Exastack Program
The Oracle Exastack program helps enable Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and other members of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) to rapidly build and deliver faster, more reliable applications. Leveraging the Oracle Exastack program, qualifying OPN members have access to Oracle performance experts and dedicated labs for testing and tuning their applications on Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, and Oracle SPARC SuperCluster. Customers can be confident when selecting Oracle Exastack Optimized applications that they have been tested and tuned to achieve optimal performance, scalability and reliability. Also part of the program, Oracle Exastack Ready is dedicated to helping ISVs run their solutions on the latest major release of Oracle Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Oracle SPARC SuperCluster and their component products, including Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux and Oracle VM. These products provide partners with a lower cost and high performance infrastructure for database and application workloads across on-premise and cloud based environments.
