TOMRA Sorting consolidates with IFS Applications 8
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that TOMRA Sorting, a leading provider of sensor-based sorting solutions and part of TOMRA Systems ASA, has decided to implement IFS Applications 8™as its central enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The contract includes licenses worth EUR 1.2 million as well as services.
TOMRA Sorting Solutions, headquartered in Asker, Norway, creates sensor-based technologies for sorting and process analysis within the recycling, mining, and food industries.
The company chose IFS Applications 8 to consolidate its business software environment and ensure full product lifecycle support. The IFS solution will help streamline business-critical processes such as finance, supply chain management, service management, project management, and CRM, and replace a number of legacy and standalone systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
The IFS solution will help the company optimize its strong international growth and will be used by 500 employees working at ten sites in as many countries throughout Europe. The agreement also marks a significant expansion of the TOMRA group’s IFS footprint, having selected IFS Applications for its Collection business area in 2007, for Tomra Manufacturing in 2010, and for its North American organization in 2012.
“We wanted a complete ERP solution that could standardize our multinational business processes, support our growth, and optimize our product lifecycle,” Tomra Systems ASA, CFO Espen Gundersen said. “We chose IFS Applications 8 because it best met these requirements. By consolidating our business on the IFS platform, we will also benefit from increased transparency between our different business areas.”
“We are pleased to welcome TOMRA Sorting to the IFS customer community and to strengthen our relationship with the TOMRA group,” IFS Scandinavia CEO Glenn Arnesen said. “As a company whose operations cover the entire product lifecycle—from design and production to delivery and service—we are confident that TOMRA Sorting will benefit from the broad capabilities of IFS Applications 8.”
The implementation will commence immediately.
