IFS expands its position in the automotive industry
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Aurora, a manufacturer of air-conditioning systems for commercial vehicles, has chosen IFS Applications to streamline its business processes. IFS Applications will be implemented at Aurora’s head office in Germany and at its subsidiaries in Turkey and the U.S.
Having used a patchwork of legacy systems for many years—frequently modified and connected to various stand-alone solutions through a multitude of interfaces—Aurora decided to evaluate a new, integrated ERP solution.
The company needed a solution that could significantly reduce the number of interfaces, support its business processes within the group, especially those involving subsidiaries in Turkey and the U.S., provide better information for decision-making, and support electronic data interchange (EDI) with customers and suppliers. Universal processes also needed to be established for centralized tasks across the entire Aurora group, for example, a unified purchasing process.
IFS won out over its competitors in the evaluation thanks to its component-based ERP solution, IFS Applications. IFS offered a comprehensive set of business-critical functionality as standard in IFS Applications and displayed a thorough understanding of the needs of the automotive sector. Other decisive factors were the leading technology on which IFS Applications is built and its global, multi-client capabilities, which were very important considering the integration requirements of the Aurora group. Finally, the modern user interface as well as the collaboration possibilities offered by the solution impressed users during workshops.
Over the coming year, Aurora will implement IFS Applications components for human resources, financials, distribution, manufacturing, automotive supply chain, maintenance, project management, business analytics, document management, and quality management.
“As a medium-sized company, we need an ERP solution that works and a partner who understands our activities and business requirements,” Petra Ilzhöfer, Aurora commercial manager, said. “From the very beginning, IFS impressed us as a vendor with whom we could cooperate.”
“We are pleased to have made it successfully through a very thorough selection process,” Peter Höhne, Vice President Sales & Marketing at IFS Central Europe said. “The automotive industry in particular needs technologically sophisticated IT solutions for its advanced processes. Aurora’s evaluation has demonstrated, once again, our ability to provide the right software for the task with IFS Applications.”
Aurora Konrad G. Schulz GmbH & Co. KG, part of Indus Holding, has its headquarters in Mudau in the Neckar-Odenwald region of Germany. The medium-sized manufacturer of heating and air-conditioning systems for commercial vehicles employs around 250 people worldwide and generates over €30 million in revenue.
