Bergen Group Hanøytangen selects IFS Applications
IFS has signed an agreement for the implementation of IFS Applications with Bergen Group Hanøytangen (BGHT), a port of call for ships and oil rigs located outside Bergen, Norway. The solution will offer complete support for BGHT’s project-oriented operations.

With one of the world’s largest dry docks offering unparalleled capacity for handling large maritime construction and repair projects, BGHT operates under a truly unique set of business conditions, all of which must be supported by the company’s business solution. Bergen Group previously used a business applications system from MultiPlus, a company which was acquired by IFS in 2009, as its corporate solution. BGHT recently decided to screen the market for a system that could support their business even better. Following an evaluation process involving a number of suppliers, BGHT decided to go for IFS Applications.
Thanks to IFS’s profound knowledge about the industry and the customer, the team managed to configure the solution within one month and in November, 2011, the solution was presented to BGHT with great success.
“The Conference Room Pilot convinced us that IFS could offer us a future-proof standard solution that will support our current and future business requirements. Among the most important factors were the strong project functionality included in IFS Applications, IFS’s excellent references within the industry and, crucially, the industry competence and experience found among IFS’s employees,” Yngve Thuen, CFO at Bergen Group Hanøytangen.
“It is very satisfying to welcome Bergen Group Hanøytangen onto the IFS Applications platform. Since the acquisition of MultiPlus Solutions in 2009, we have had a strong focus on retaining and developing the extensive industry competence found within the organization. This deal is additional proof that our joint efforts have been successful and that we are able to offer MultiPlus customers an industry solution that supports their business needs,” said Glenn Arnesen, CEO, IFS Scandinavia.
IFS expects to finalize the implementation in the second quarter of 2012.
