The Foundation for Thailand Productivity Institute increases efficiency with IFS Applications
The Foundation for Thailand Productivity Institute is owned by the Ministry of Industry, whose core mission is to promote and encourage productivity processes in Thailand. By improving and increasing productivity the nation will be better placed to compete on a global scale and ensure Thailand’s longevity.
In 2008, the Foundation for Thailand Productivity Institute (FTPI) selected IFS to manage its key processes and to increase the efficiency and agility of its work. IFS Applications supports FTPI’s marketing, project management, procurement and financial management processes, and has now gone live.
Dr. Phanit Laosirirat, Executive Director of the FTPI said, “We used similar software systems previously but experienced many problems, including delays in modifying the system, lack of agility, vendor service issues and the inability to integrate with existing research and development software. This former software was also very expensive. We initially implemented IFS software to run alongside the existing system. That way our employees could familiarize themselves with the new software before the old system was completely removed in favor of IFS software.”
IFS Applications it is being used across all areas of the organization. One concrete example of how it has helped the FTPI is the way the software has reduced the number of procedures required for employees to get approval on projects. With many employees being off-site with clients, they can use the software to get sign-off faster and spend more time working, which benefits the organization and its overall productivity levels.
Moreover, using IFS Applications to analyze specific characteristics of projects, gives the FTPI an advantage in planning. Executives are able to see who is responsible for each project, how many workers are required, how long the project will take, what costs and revenues that will arise from this project, etc. This information is collated in the database and analyzed so that executives can more accurately and efficiently forecast future projects.
Dr. Phanit concluded, “Implementing IFS Applications has greatly improved our processes. Our employees’ satisfaction with the software is also clear in that it has helped shorten a number of procedures. We’re better placed to analyze future project trends thanks to the data we receive and continue to drive productivity levels to contribute to Thailand’s place in the world.”
