IFS appointed one of Sweden’s best workplaces
Great Place to Work® Institute Sweden has nominated IFS among the top workplaces in Sweden. Following up on last year’s seventh place, IFS proves its attractiveness as an employer by advancing to the top-five of the 2011 list. The company’s open and inclusive culture, founded on Scandinavian values, as well as its strong financial results, is the main reasons for the employees’ continuing commitment to IFS.
Since the founding of IFS in 1983, the company has positioned itself as a leading business application provider with local competence and a global reach. Today, IFS has 2,700 employees world-wide, approximately 550 of whom are based in Sweden, and is present in more than 50 countries.
IFS is working continuously with a number of improvement projects, involving employees in all areas of the organization – from structural improvements within the Research and Development department, to customer satisfaction activities within the business consulting branch. The common goal for all projects is to make people more visible within the entire value chain, thereby promoting a sense of pride in the company and its solutions. The immediate benefits are evident in more frequent and efficient product releases and an even more customer-focused consulting organization.
“Our definition of a great place to work is an environment where co-workers trust the people they work for. In a high-trust environment, people cooperate and collaborate, leading to positive workplace interactions, higher revenues, and greater productivity. IFS’s second consecutive year on the list indicates that the company consistently promotes corporate openness and trust among its employees,” Maria Grudén, CEO at Great Place to Work® Institute Sweden said.
“We are very happy to receive this honor; it is a true testament to the success of IFS’s open and engaging work environment. Simply put, having motivated employees leads to satisfied customers and increased earnings – it is a positive trend that we are proud of and wish to maintain. Supported by the momentum of our constant improvement efforts and our strong financial results, we seek to attract more people with the right competence to join our journey toward success,” Glenn Arnesen, CEO, IFS Scandinavia said.
IFS has recorded strong and profitable growth in recent years and has accumulated a large pool of knowledge and know-how, mainly thanks to the targeting of Sweden’s leading IT competence – freshly graduated as well as experienced seniors – as potential employees. Apart from having the right competence, high importance is placed on new employees understanding and respecting the core values on which the corporate culture is founded.
