Sogepoc chooses IFS to manage growth and support international expansion
Comprehensive IFS solution to manage business processes at leading Portuguese agricultural group
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Sogepoc, one of Portugal’s largest agricultural producers, has chosen IFS Applications™ to unify management of the group's agriculture and livestock division. A single solution will manage finances, human resources, manufacturing, planning, projects, maintenance, document management, and warehousing.
Sogepoc chose IFS Applications because it needed a single comprehensive tool to support the growth of the subsidiaries in the group, which is owned by the Ortigão Costa family. By implementing the IFS solution as its unified management system, Sogepoc will be able to integrate all of its business-critical processes, thereby enabling the group to lower IT expenditures, gain agility, and focus on its core business.
Among the ERP vendors that were evaluated, IFS Applications proved to be the optimal solution for Sogepoc, offering extensive and flexible functionality localized for rapid deployment in a large number of countries. Initially focusing on its Portuguese subsidiaries, the group also operates in Spain and Chile and will be able to benefit from IFS Applications’ global scalability and ease of implementation to support its future international growth.
“IFS Applications is a much more powerful and agile tool than our previous ERP solutions. It provides international coverage and has the flexibility we need to support our future growth,” said Luis Ortigão Costa, Board Director of Sogepoc.
During an initial phase of eight months, IFS Applications will be implemented at three subsidiaries before being deployed in additional parts of the group.
“This important customer win is proof that our strategy to expand our footprint in the Portuguese market is successful,” IFS Ibérica CEO Gustavo Brito said. “We are convinced that Sogepoc will benefit from our solution as IFS Applications offers the required functionality backed by our consultants, who boast extensive experience in software implementation in Portugal, which has more complex fiscal and logistical regulations than many other countries.”
Sogepoc is a holding company owned by the Ortigão Costa family, which comprises agriculture and livestock divisions. It is also active in agribusiness and distribution. The company is present in Portugal, Spain, and Chile and its revenue in 2014 was 330 million euros.
