CIN coatings selects ERP solution from IFS to power its global expansion
CIN will implement IFS Applications to gain centralized visibility of its global operations
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, has signed an agreement with Portuguese coatings company CIN for the implementation of IFS Applications™ across all its business areas. The solution includes IFS Enterprise Operational Intelligence to provide visual insights throughout the company’s value chain.
With more than 100 years of experience in the coatings industry, CIN is the Iberian market leader. Headquartered in Portugal, CIN reached 232 million euro sales in 2017 in the three most relevant market segments – Architectural, Industrial and Protective coatings. With 10 factories in Europe and Africa, CIN is also present in Latin America and employs over 1.400 people.
CIN's rapid expansion and the complexity of its market led the company to undertake a strategic project to transform the technology that underpins its business. The key focus of the project was identifying a comprehensive, state-of-the-art ERP platform that could support CIN’s current needs and future growth. Essential considerations for the company were global visibility and advanced business analytics that would allow the firm to anticipate its clients' needs as well as powerful functionality to streamline critical processes such as supply chain management.
Following a rigorous evaluation process involving five leading ERP vendors, CIN chose IFS Applications for its comprehensive functionality, integrated architecture and visually engaging user interface. Other important factors were IFS’s successful track record in the process manufacturing industry as well as its global presence.
"IFS has proven to be the perfect partner to guarantee a continuous innovation pipeline of our systems, to help us in the re-engineering of our processes, and to integrate new operations quickly and smoothly," said Pedro Rodrigues, CIO of CIN. “For us, the agreement with IFS marks the beginning of a partnership based on innovation and the optimization of our resources.”
Gustavo Brito, CEO of IFS in Spain and Portugal, added, "We are proud to win such a high-profile, industry-leading customer in the Portuguese market. We know that IFS Applications is ideally suited to the needs of companies such as CIN, which, together with our extensive experience of implementing similar solutions, makes us the perfect partner to help power its growth and digital transformation.”
