IFS™ and Honeywell sign global ISV alliance agreement
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, has entered into a collaborative ISV agreement with Honeywell. The alliance will serve as a framework for technology alignment as well as joint business development, sales, and marketing activities.
Through the agreement, IFS will be able to provide packaged solutions that combine IFS’s best-in-class mobility software for field service, asset management and supply chain with Honeywell’s industry-leading scanning and mobility devices. The initial phase of the alliance covers the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
For IFS’s customers in asset-intensive industries such as energy and utilities and oil and gas, asset uptime and reliability is crucial. Field technicians and maintenance engineers in these industries require handheld devices that can withstand demanding environments. IFS’s solutions for targeted industries within supply chain will also benefit from Honeywell’s wide range of scanning and mobility devices.
“Our customers want professional devices with the same user experience as their personal smartphones and tablets,” said IFS Martin Gunnarsson, IFS Director of Research & Strategy. “Honeywell develops rugged devices with both Android and Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 and is working actively to expand their portfolio of ruggedized mobile computers. This is in perfect alignment with IFS’s focus on providing mobile solutions with an intuitive user experience.”
“The alliance agreement with IFS will extend the reach of our devices in the EMEA region,” said David Sharratt, Channel and Business Development Director, EMEA, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. “Both companies have strong product coverage in core vertical markets such as service and asset management and supply chain. By working together, we will convert these product synergies into customer value.”
